End of Osama may not be end of terrorism
After 10 years of being hunted down, mastermind of September 11 attacks is dead. While a milestone event, it can't said that with Osama gone, terrorism, too, will die out. The US should now ensure that Al-Qaida does not raise its ugly head.
AMERICA HAS reason to be joyous to celebrate its victory on killing of its most-wanted man Osama Bin Laden on 02.05.2011. But killing of Osama Bin Laden should not be taken to be equated with killing of LTTE Chief V Prabhakaran as to end of Al-Queda, like LTTE was vanished after killing of V Prabhakaran.

It is so because Islamic fundamentalists take and teach Muslims killed in so-called Jehadi operations as become martyrs thus also auto-achieving all possible happiness of life including earthly pleasures.

Terrorism can be controlled only if the world’s only hyper-power US takes militant attack anywhere in the world as seriously as it took the attack on its own World Trade Towers. Infamous 9/11 attack on US World Trade Towers could be possible only because US avoided taking any concrete action on IC-814 hijack at Kandhar.

Likewise, not taking 26/11 terror-attack on Mumbai in seriousness as the unpleasant episode deserves, US may indirectly invite even severe attack on itself from soil of its favoured nation Pakistan in time to come. Chances become even greater after killing of Osama Bin Laden.

Nothing can improve till America stops all financial aid to Pakistan - and till Pakistan practically exhibits some practical attitude such as hanging some terrorists responsible for 26/11 Mumbai attack and hijack of IC-814 at Kandhar, rather than just gimmick healing touch to wounds of India created by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
