On his second visit to India after the first one in 2004, pop star Enrique Iglesias once again became a heartthrob of the people of Delhi & NCR. Performing in Gurgaon's HUDA ground in Leisure Valley, sector 29, last night, he welcomed his audience saying 'Namaste Delhi. Aap kaise ho. Main aapse bahut pyaar karta hun.'
The Spanish singer wearing his trade mark cap along with a casual dress, greeted his audience in Hindi, saying, "Namaste Delhi. Aap kaise ho. Main aapse bahut pyaar karta hun." (Hello Delhi, how are you. I love you so much).
Coming late for the show he removed all their resentment with his popular numbers such as "Tonight I'm lovin' you", "Rhythm divine", "Bailamos", "Escape", "Tired of being sorry", "Just wanna be with you", "Baby I like it" ,"I like how it feels" and "Hero". He dedicated the song Hero to his fans saying,"Delhi this is for you".
The 37-year-old singer also freely interacted with the audience and called them on stage to dance with him. His popularity was clearly visible with yelling and shouting his name by audiences who lost themselves in the "rhythm" of his music. Even after so many years in the industry, his popularity does not seem to have waned - as people flew in from
Kolkata and
Chandigarh - just to have single glance of the star.
"We have been hearing Enrique since we were in class 6. We have come from
Chandigarh just for Enrique and our visit was totally worth it. We came by road and we lost our way but we somehow reached here and were waiting, and the wait was totally worth it," Surbhi Suri, a class 12th student, told
India Today.
Shilpi Bansal, with her sister and large group of friends, came from
Faridabad to witness the most enthralling pop performance in this festive season. She was so excited to tell her friends about her experience that she put many pictures of the concert at the same time on
Facebook, and updated her status writing "I like how I feel ;)....watching Enrique live at huda grounds".
"That was one of my lifetime experience watching him live. He is so smart, more than he looks on screen. I loved his all songs and danced almost all the time till the end," Shilpi told this
citizen journalist . While Shantanu, a class 11 student, said he wants to be like Enrique Iglesias and sing like him.
Enrique Enrique Iglesias is on tri-city tour in India, and after performing in
Pune on Wednesday and in
Gurgaon on Friday, he is all set to perform in
Bangalore on Sunday. People can book tickets for the show on bookmyticket.com, and tickets start from Rs. 2500 onwards.
