Entertainment should be value based
A marriage can only be successful when both individuals have a sacrificing attitude and accommodating nature. The other important thing is time factor which makes the bond of marriage strong and enduring.
ELECTRONIC CHANNELS are setting up a very dangerous trend in the Indian society by promoting people of doubtful character and social values which would only do more harm than good in the long run.

Character has become the last word in the lexicon of today’s youth and for money they are willing to do anything even if it is suicidal or would adversely affect their rest of the life.

Earlier, Music channels were polluting the minds of youth in the name of global and liberal culture, and still even after getting warnings from the Information and Broadcasting (I&B)ministry they have not mend their ways. Now, one of the popular TV channels came out with another brilliant idea after selling ‘Rakhi ka swayamvar’ they are searching for the ‘would be’ wife for late Pramod Mahajan’s son, Rahul Mahajan.

Marriage is a very sacred relationship and as per the Hindu mythology, it’s a relationship between two souls which last for seven births. Now it has become a national joke. Rahul Mahajan already married earlier went for a divorce in which I have nothing to object as it is a personal matter and every individual has a right to live or not to live in a relationship with someone. Then, we all saw Rahul Mahajan romancing and flirting with one of the contestants in Big Boss season-II, and what is more important to take note of is this Rahul Mahajan was caught in the case of drug abuse in Delhi 2006, in which one person died of drug overdose.

Now if the channels will keep on promoting doubtful personalities like Rahul Mahajan more and more boys would want to ape the way of Mahajan, and would try to do anything for the sake of name and fame. I wonder what has happened to today’s girls who want to marry a flirt and a drug addict. The girls are so innocent that they have not been able to judge Rahul Mahajan’s character by now. How long will this marriage going to be last, is not a difficult thing to predict.

A marriage can only be successful when both individuals have a sacrificing attitude and accommodating nature. The other important thing is time factor which makes the bond of marriage strong and in today’s world one hardly has any time to spend with the loved ones. Thus, there has been a sharp rise in the number of divorce cases in the families settled in urban areas.

I have nothing personal against Mahajan and neither have any interest in his married life. Many of our celebrities even changed their religion in order to marry another woman. I just want to say that if we can’t promote good people on TV channels then at least channels must not encourage doubtful elements as that will ruin the social fabric of this nation for ever.
