ESPN apologises for Barry Melrose comments on First take
Barry Melrose has appeared as an expert commentator for ESPN's morning sports program First Take. The show was formerly called Cold Pizza and predominantly covers NFL and NHL games.

ESPN HAS apologized for certain comments made by sports commentator and analyst Barry Melrose, in First take. Melrose had been criticized by many for using inappropriate words on the show.

Barry Melrose is one of the most prominent figures in the world of NFL or the National Hockey League. He used to be a defense man, and during his long and illustrious career as a player, he played for teams such as Springfield Indians, Cincinnati Stingers, Winnipeg Jets, Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple. He played 300 NFL games and scored 10 goals in his career as a player.

Presently, Barry is a head coach in the National Hockey League and also an occasional commentator and analyst for the sports channel ESPN. His pre match and post match analysis during the Stanley Cup finals are much appreciated by hockey fans. Barry Melrose has appeared as an expert commentator for ESPN’s morning sports program First Take. The show was formerly called Cold Pizza and predominantly covers NFL and NHL games.

The teams which he has coached include Medicine Hat Tigers, Seattle Thunderbirds, Los Angeles Kings and Tampa Bay Lightning. Melrose presently lives in New York’s Glens Falls, and is also a relative of former National Hockey League stars Joe Kocur and Wendel Clark.
