ESSAR Group visualises 18000 jobs for J&K youth
With the coming in of new CM Omar Abdullah in J&K, hers one more good news for the youth of the state. Zahoor Malik, president, ESSAR Group said the company visualises 18000 jobs to youth in BPO sector in the coming years
ECHOING THE happy mood of J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of promising good news for the state in 2009, Zahoor Malik, president, ESSAR Group (J&K), has said that his company visualises 18000 jobs for state’s youth in the coming years after the company got approval from J&K government to setup two BPOs in the state.

Talking to this scribe on phone, Zahoor complimented the youthful Chief Minister of being a very positive and visionary minister and added that his taking over the reins of the state is definitely a good omen for the youth of J&K.

Zahoor said that he had a meeting with the J&K Chief Minister at Mumbai alongwith the director of ESSAR Group Prashant Ruia during the presentation of Business India’s Businessman of the Year 2008 Award function, after which CM announced the approval of the two BPOs in J&K.

He said that the foundation stone for two BPOs, one in Jammu and one in Kashmir, would be laid within a fortnight. Adding, the company was eager to expand the business in the state to contribute in the development of J&K.

Zahoor said that while the two BPOs would provide atleast 4000 jobs initially, the same would be expanded very soon. He said that he visualises atleast 18000 jobs for the J&K youth from the company in the coming years.

Elaborating further he said that ESSAR was involved in the business of Power Plants, Infrastructure, Petrol Pumps and mobile phones. While the company has around 2000 outlets in the country and it plans atleast 10 outlets in the state with one outlet at each district headquarter.

Giving full credit to the young CM for quick approval of the company’s plans, he said the company would also take up power generation to tap the vast hydro power potential in the state, adding the company would go for bigger power plants in the state.

Zahoor said that the business expansion of the company in J&K would provide atleast 18000 jobs to youth from the BPO sector in the coming years as the strength of the BPOs would be increased gradually.

Saying that the company was pushing its plans in J&K for the last one year, he said while the attitude of the previous government was also positive but the implementation could not take place due to various reasons.

He said that after installation of the new government and appointment of a young Chief Minister, the developmental plans are being given green signal without wasting much time.
