ETRAC Foundation is open to organisations, companies and individuals engaged or interested in the empowerment of the marginalised sections of the society.
WITH AN objective to ensure empowerment and human freedom through integration of right-based research and action, well-known academicians, bureaucrats, technocrats, veteran journalists across the globe have joined hands in a unique platform, which is called ETRAC (Empowerment Through Research & Action) Foundation.
Towards enrichment of civic and community dialogue and to influence policy process, ETRAC Foundation recently launched an interactive web-based platform for research scholars, academia, policy makers and development professionals to share their analyses, opinions and topical articles on the thrust areas of the Foundation. We welcome thought provoking writings on a regular basis.
On the occasion of the launching of the web site, Chayanika Goswami, member of the Foundation said that their mission is to create, strengthen and support networks of people and institutions promoting change towards enhancement of the human capability as well as development of the area. ETRAC Foundation is open to organisations, companies and individuals engaged or interested in the empowerment of the marginalised sections of the society. ‘Volunteers form an integral part of the ETRAC Foundation’, said Dr Vir Narayan, another member of the Foundation.
Elaborating the discussion further, Santosh Patra, executive committee member of the Foundation, said that the complex task of empowering the lives of millions of people, who are voiceless and powerless in their own homes, workplaces, in communities and societies in general, cannot be accomplished by any single agency alone, like the government. ‘The synergetic action of governmental agencies on the one hand and non-governmental organisations on the other can bring about attitudinal changes, demolish structures of exploitation, instil confidence among the oppressed and bring about participatory social justice’ said Patra.
