Euro 2012 favourites for title so far
Out of the 16 teams that are playing in the ongoing Euro 2012 Championships, many teams grabbed the headlines. But, England, Spain and Germany have to be the favourites for the competition, after their recent performances.

IT HAS been 10 days into the European Championship, and some teams have already showed their class and other teams are already fearing them. Some teams like Netherlands have not justified the favourites' tag, while Germany have stayed true to its colours. So far, some teams have attracted huge eye balls due to their performances in the Euro Cup 2012 such as Spain, England, and Germany. One could consider them favourites for the remainder of the competition.

Spain, the defending champion, has been talked about very highly and they have not disappointed their fans. With the likes of Torres, Xavi, Alonso, Fabregas, and Iniesta etc., they have looked as a class unit. Their style of game is simple, where they keep the ball on the ground and make short passes forward. Then, it is the turn of their strikers to make those dreading runs inside the box and score goals. They have been successful in their venture. Though they did not come up with a good game in their first match against Italy, their second match against Ireland proove their class.

Germany, before the tournament, had been said to be the second favourite behind Spain, but many consider them to be the favourites now, after their league matches, where they won all their matches. They were pitted in the group of death, comprising of European giants, Holland, Denmark and Portugal. They topped the group. Their players in both the offense and defense have been immaculate. Players such as Gomez, P.Lahm, Per Mertesacker, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Muller have been all impressive in the championship, thus making them favourite for the championship. They have scored 5 goals in the competition so far with their striker, Mari Gomez scoring three goals out these 5 goals. Their immediate competitor has to be Spain for the European title.

England, who has not won the competition even once may not have been a strong favourite before the championship, but their performance against Sweden in their previous match reflected their spirit, thus increasing their chances of doing good in the competition. In their previous encounters, they were playing without their lethal striker, Wayne Rooney who was serving suspension, would be back into the English team fold, which is only going to bolster their team. This England team is only going to improve from here. Hodgson, their coach, may have faced some criticism for his team's selection policy, but the results are impressive.

Out of these mentioned teams, only Germany has made it through to the quarter-finals of the competition till date. Spain and England has not made it to the knock out stages, but they are expected to make it, when they play their last match in their league stages in the next two days or so. But, Germany, Spain and England has impressed fans all over the world with their display on the pitch, hence this CJ also considers these teams to be the favourite for Euro Cup 2012.
