Every child's dream is to play for Liverpool: Luis Suarez
Luis Suarez is one of the best players of the English Premier League. He is the top scorer, with 22 goals, which has made him one of the key players for Liverpool, this season. In an exclusive interview to AFP, he has talked about his life in Liverpool and many other things related to the club as well.

“I love it. My family loves living in the city. The club treats me very well and that is very important for a player. As I said, every child's dream is to play for Liverpool. I dreamt of playing for Liverpool and now here I am and I am privileged,” said Luis Suarez, who wears the famous jersey number 7, which was once worn by the Liverpool legend, Kenny Dalglish.

Suarez signed for Liverpool during the January transfer window of 2011 after which he has been one of the most popular players in Liverpool jersey. He is already said to be one of the best players who wore a Liverpool jersey and he has won hearts of Liverpool fans in such a short span.

In spite of his trickery and goal scoring ability, Liverpool has not seen success in the English Premier League. It has been more than two decades since Liverpool last won the top flight football in England. The competition has just become tougher with clubs getting richer and richer every season.

“It’s a tricky moment because everyone knows what record Liverpool has. And what a great club it is and it has competed for top spot in the EPL. But the Premier League is very close and competitive and you don't know what happens in the games and of course we also have a new manager (Brendan Rodgers), who is introducing a new philosophy and a way of playing and we as players are adapting to the best we can and we hope it will bear fruit next season,” said Suarez.

Under Brendan Rodgers, the team has been playing an attractive brand of football, though it is not yielding them desired results. But, on the other hand, the team is improving with every match and Liverpool fans are waiting for next season, expecting that they would make life difficult for all the top teams.

Suarez has faced criticism from several quarters too, but he does not seem to get disturbed. “Everyone has the right to have an opinion and my way of playing is very individualistic. Some people like it some people don't. Everyone has their own view, their own point of view. Sometimes you agree, sometimes you don't. I am very self critical and I realise when I have made mistakes,” he said.

The Uruguayan has been in thick of controversies, which have led him being banned for many matches apart from few yellow cards every now and then. In the last few months, Suarez has been a disciplined player and has gradually started to show his class.
