Who are we? Why are we here? Where do we come from? The answers lies in the Rig Veda. The hidden meanings and the linkage will reveal some of the most revered secrets of ancient civilisations that existed on Earth long time ago.
ACCORDING TO the estimation of the Nobel Prize-winning scientists, today, the Earth was born approximately 4,500 million years ago and the first symptoms of conscious life emerged say 3,500 million years ago in the form of RNA and perhaps the DNA thereafter took forms of conscious life from 3000 million years ago onwards.
In other words, it is possible to know the origin of DNA but it may be difficult to know when the first molecule of RNA came into existence on Earth. However, this is according to the scientists of today and if we look at the first signs of knowledge on the entire cosmos received by an intelligent being (our Sun and our Universe weren’t even born) as mentioned by the Lord in Gita that the first instructions were given by him to the sun god Vivasvan trillions and trillions of years ago i.e. when Adi the first time lord was born.
For humans, if we look at the first book of Rig Veda (no one knows of its origin) as narrated in Sanskrit, we come to know what the Scientists are discovering today is already written in the first hymns of the sacred book. The three prominent demigods are Agni, Varun and Indra the providers of the evolution of life anywhere in the stretches of the whole cosmos. Before we go on this road it is necessary to know the meaning of the terms spiritual and material in the context of evolution of life. Material means earthly, which means something that cannot evolve by itself but acts as a catalyst or a base or a medium for an entity which has the ability to self-programme to act as an individual for either to survive or to reproduce itself in the same format.
Spiritual means the energy that conduits the electricity and then propels the material base into physical movement or invisible reaction of thinking of alternatives. In Gita there is mention of this as the module that starts the chain of action and reaction with in a living organism. This also means that spiritual cannot evolve by itself it has to have a material base e.g. the composition of Earth is the medium for sustaining evolution of life and therefore consciousness is related to evolution which can be termed as spiritual the Rig Veda in the first hymns bows to Agni the first lord without whom this cosmos cannot exist because it is the heat, resulting light from the fire that acts as the first medium for the expansion of different energies of creation and the scientists were not very far off when they confirmed that the whole evolution process started with a big bang releasing heat.
Lord Varun is the second important deity - the creator of movement, the winds and the rain the RNA was impossible without the liquid potency of the Vauna. Indra the designer of DNA controller of the thinking process and the controller of the entire action and reaction in all forms all over the Cosmos, his weapon the Vajra meaning trembling Earth the earthquake meaning the beginning of life. The Rig Veda states all the natural causes of an evolution cycle in the first 100 lines.
The forces of Nature that control the evolution like the volcanic eruption and the draught (agni), the storms and floods (Varun) and earthquakes (Indra) are all vividly praised. The Lord says, ‘I am the seed and I am the seed giver well it is recognised that the intelligent evolution does not go ahead without an externally inseminated process in other words it cannot happen without sensual direction and control of senses are the hallmark of the spirituality therefore Indra is recognised as the king of the creators under special guidance from The Lord Krishna himself'.
Today, scientists look upon the whole process as a means of Biology and Chemistry and look for material rational answers and I am not saying that only God has created the entire cosmic cycle of evolution but that leads to the spiritual answer of evolution that there is something more than material, chemical and biological reactions to the evolution cycle of conscience beings. This is reason it has been universally acknowledged by the scriptures that the conscious beings are the ones that that can take part in evolution by individual self-contribution as choice in terms of a thinking process i.e. who is aware of alternatives and has a choice of action in terms of reproduction and avoiding danger to its life, etc., and resulting into prolongation of individual life which eventually enhances evolution.
The Rig Veda predicts that this knowledge of the whole process of evolution will gather momentum once the technology of encapsulated transportation of loose life matter is mastered. Perhaps the first principles of the spiritual energy (Higgins Bosun) will be discovered. There is a separate energy different from biological process of living beings which constitutes the permutations of action and reaction to enhance evolution of intelligent beings.
Rig Veda also mentions about the six types of rasas that holds Human Tongue and the Brain at bay thinking in material terms the saliva (rasas) that envelope the taste buds hold the DNA concentration that triggers the signals from the Brain to act and react and continuously constitutes the functioning of the tongue (the urge to speak), the Belly (the urge to conserve and hoard) and the genitals (the urge to reproduce) and then ultimately growth ending with the aging process.
