MOTHERS, HOUSEWIVES, sisters, aunts and all those who are devoting a good part of their time everyday in the household kitchen will gain immensely by having proper ventilation outlets such as kitchen exhaust fans. These pollutants not only pollute the atmosphere but also stick to the walls, ceilings, carpets, furniture and upholstery all leading to collection of greasy layers, which can't be cleaned easily in one go. Health of people spending long hours in the kitchen also gets impacted and they become vulnerable to contract many preventable diseases. As the adage goes, “Giving a small gift for someone you love”, should be followed. Children who can afford to do so can make a big positive difference to the lives of their moms and sisters and all those spending long hours in the kitchen by going in for installing kitchen exhaust fans, wherever they seem to be missing. Even installing chimneys, which are considerbaly more expensive, can be helpful. It is almost guaranteed that by providing exhaust kitchen fans not only health of people spending more time in kitchens will improve but also the general household atmosphere will also get a big facelift. Government must make it mandatory for all new houses to have exhaust kitchen fans. In those houses where kitchen exhaust fans could not be installed for whatever reasons, media attention should be drawn to the fact that people in such places are more exposed to health hazards and therefore must take preventive measures like spending less time in the kitchen and relying more on buying affordable food from outside because it does not sound good to get exposed towards health hazards knowingly.
