Experts from Hero, Benz, FIAT, Volkswagen head to international conference on automotive industry
India is emerging as a global hub for auto component sourcing and is set to break into the league of the top five vehicle producing nations worldwide. The country is also emerging as a sourcing hub for engine components. However, the sector has been experiencing global slowdown due to certain factors.

In order to revitalize the growth of this sector and to furnish a common platform for exchange of expert ideas, best practices, innovative concepts and green technologies, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing International Conference on World Class Technologies for Sustainable growth of Automotive Industry on 8th February 2014 at New Delhi.

Ajay Shankar, Member Secretary, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council, Sunil Kant Munjal, Joint Managing Director, Hero MotoCorp Ltd, Jayant Davar, Chairman, CII Northern Region & Co-Chairman & Managing Director, Sandhar Technologies Ltd and Harish Lakshman, President, ACMA (Automotive Component Manufacturers Association) & Managing Director, Rane TRW Steering Systems, will address the conference.

Experts from world’s leading Vehicle and Component Manufacturers like Hero MotoCorp Ltd, FIAT Chrysler India, Mercedes-Benz, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Siemens Industry Software (I) Pvt. Ltd and Bosch, would be sharing their pioneering experiences in different facets of recent technological advancements in the automobile industry with a view to make Indian Industry stronger, cost effective and globally competitive during the Conference.

The Conference is coinciding with Auto Expo 2014- Asia’s largest automotive show being organized in collaboration between Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA); and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

“Exports of auto components from India have clocked a record compounded annual growth rate of 33% in the last 3 years, owing to a huge increase in sourcing of auto components from India by several developed countries. This Conference aims to provide a common platform for front runners as well as the budding players of the auto component sector to exchange innovative ideas and discuss the future roadmap of success in the sector,” said M M Singh, Conference Chairman & COO (Production) Maruti Suzuki India Ltd

“The Conference will have not only have deliberations from big players of the sector but also from eminent policy makers. It also looks forward to discuss latest R&D trends, Green technology concepts and innovative product development ideas across the global auto component industry, which will ultimately strengthen the sector’s role in national economic development,” said Jayant Davar, Chairman, CII, Northern Region.
