SEARCH ENGINE Google has announced that it will soon offer real time search results. This real time search would also include live updates of breaking news, tweets and blog content pertaining to the search queries.

Google has announced that it would make the real time search option available for its users across the globe, from Tuesday, December 8. For this purpose, the search engine has begun a collaboration with networking websites like Twitter and Facebook. Results from MySpace would be part of the search in a few weeks.

The real time search feature has become a possibility due to growth of cloud computing sector, which has in turn, enabled search engines to tap into the huge computer resources scattered online, across the globe. Moreover, there has been an increasing realisation that services like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace are no loger restricted to social networking - they are a new media, a new brand of journalism by themselves.

Marissa Mayer, Vice president, Google, who looks after search products and user experience, has stated that Google has realised the importance of an event reported through live-feeds via tweets from eye-witnesses and has quickly taped into its potential.

A possible reason for this real time search breakthrough via Google is the emergence of competition like Microsoft's Bing and Yahoo.
