The death of Osama bin Laden is bringing its own repercussions on the Pakistani civilians. It is almost as if the terrorists just want to kill randomly for their deceased leader and take revenge.
THE PAKISTANI Taliban group killed 80 odd recruits of a frontier outfit in revenge for the killing of Osama bin Laden. Innocent citizens are being killed in revenge.
If I gouge out an eye of a man of my enemy's tribe and the same is done to a kin of mine, we will all be one-eyed men sooner than later. If one wants a segment of the population in an area to be toothless, the policy of revenge can be put into practice.
Mohmand, a deadly regionThe semi-autonomous region of Mohmand, situated on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, has been known for its inborn spirit of revenge. If a man of a particular tribe is killed by a man of another tribe, it heralds the beginning of an inter-tribal feud that may cause a lot of bloodshed and may go on for a long time.
Blood for blood - that is the name of the game. A way out is possible if blood money is paid to the family of the deceased by the family of the killer. In the present case of killing of 80 men of Pakistan, in a twin bomb blast, is stated to be in revenge for the killing of Osama bin Laden by the US Navy Seals in Abbottabad, Pakistan on May 2.The Pakistani government and the army were ignorant of such a big incident in one of their cantonments, where the Pakistan Military Academy is situated. The Pakistani Taliban who claimed responsibility for killing recruits and some civilians in a paramilitary training centre in the Khyber province have declared it to be in revenge for the killing of Laden. Of course, another phone call from the same Islamist terror outfit claimed it to be an act of revenge for the Pakistani army attack on Jihadi groups in the Mohmand region. Be that as it may, the crime of killing of 80 plus Pakistani paramilitary recruits and civilians was an act of revenge. Terrorists kill innocents The Pakistani Taliban, or for that matter other Islamist terror groups find innocent civilians, women, children, recruits under training, faithful Muslims praying in mosques vulnerable targets and attacks. Generally speaking, killers are cowards and are in a hurry to get away from the scene of crime. So, they choose easy targets like political persons Benazir Bhutto, or like to attack without any fear of retaliation. The passers by or the onlookers just run away from the scene as fast as they can and do not even bother to collect evidence like a car number or a description of the attackers.Fear dominates the emotions of all concerned. An individual, who is scared of attacking terrorists, can never collect evidence or retaliate. That explains, why attacking terrorists always get away and are never caught by the investigating agencies either. If the crime is committed by suicide bombers, the question of apprehending them does not arise. An average citizen of Pakistan is perplexed. He is at a loss to understand whether the government of Pakistan or its army is a mercenary outfit to carry on killings on behalf of Americans or they are with the Islamist terrorists furthering the cause of Jihad. Confusion reigns supreme all over Pakistan.
