Eye surgeon accuses Gurgaon's 5-star hotel of damaging his Audi Q7 car, hotel denies allegations
Dr. Suraj Munjal, who is a chief eye surgeon at Spectra Eye Hospital, India and Mauritius, visited Leela Hotel in Gurgaon on February 14, 2016 to dine with his family. According to Dr. Munjal there at the hotel he handed over his Audi Q7 car at valet parking area.

After completing the dinner, he moved to the parking area for his car. But he was little surprised seeing his car at porch area instead of valet parking. It took him hours to collect the car. Anyhow, he After reaching his residence he asked his driver to park the car and there his driver noticed about some damage that the car had suffered and informed about the same to Dr. Munjal.

Knowing about the damage he contacted the Leela Hotel for clarification. The hotel authorities assured him of proper investigation and compensation for the damage.

But later he was a little astonished at their findings, which said that, "The car was not damaged in the hotel premises."

Dr. Munjal asked the hotel for the CCTV footage, but they replied that they can't as nothing was captured. He felt sad because of their behavior and reply and called it unprofessional. When he approached hotel's senior staff, they said, "We can't do anything as nothing is in our hand."

When's correspondent contacted The Leela Hotel to know their stand over the entire issue as mentioned by Rajesh Jha, the Head of the hotel's Public Relations department Nidhi Verma in an e-mail response said:

"I would like to appraise you that, we take all our guest complaints and feedbacks in consideration and a proper investigation is done on every matter and then a report is created.

With regards to below mentioned incident, I would like to brief you about the whole story happened.

Mr. Suraj Munjal, came to Hotel on 14th March, 2016 and the car was parked by the hotel Valet and he was issued a valet tag. Attaching a sample of the valet tag for your perusals as well which clearly says that the valet parking in hotel premises is at owners risk, the very first points states the same.

Secondly, after taking the car out from the hotel premises, next day afternoon the guest called in the hotel and claimed that the car is damaged while it was parked in the hotel, which is very unusual. If the car was damaged the guest should informed us while taking his car back.

Whereas, after listening to the guest we made a complete report we did the investigation as well, the guest came by himslef, showed him all the parking areas. Their were people who came from guests side as well and given them the entire brief of the incident. Senior management did meet up with the guest as well and the matter was closed. Also, we never refused for showing the cctv footage and the guest never asked for the footage as well. Also, the guest wasn't sure that the damage has happened inside the hotel only. (attached is the report for your reference).

Moreover, the guest was threatening us that he will write on social sites and contact media for the same, on that also we politely conveyed to guest that this would not be correct on his part. Moreover, as we have again invited Mr. Munjal to come to hotel as well and close this matter. As we always believe in guest satisfaction is important."
