F1 legend Michael Schumacher battling for his life
Formula One legend Michael Schumacher is fighting for his life after the ill-fated skiing accident on Sunday in French Alps. Even though he was wearing a helmet, the F1 driver received a fatal knock on his head, which struck a rock thus deteriorating his condition.
''Unfortunately, he had some lesions to his brain when he came in, he had some diffuse injuries to his brain, but we can't really say what the outcome will be," Jean-Francois Payen, an anesthesiologist who is leading Schumacher's medical team at the Grenoble University Hospital Center said at a news conference, reported The Times of India.
He further added, "He's in a critical situation, and we can say he's fighting for his life. We judge him to be in a very serious condition. We are working continuously, hour by hour, but it's too early to say what's going to happen and to give a prognosis."
Though, the racer's condition is not in great shape, but the kind of injury suffered by the German is hard to predict. Anything can happen. Schumacher when he was brought to the hospital went through an immediate surgery, as he was already in a state of coma.
According to some media organisations, two operations have already taken place ever since the accident.
Schumacher has been one of the best F1 racers that the world has ever seen. His record speaks volumes about his achievement, where he is a seven time Formula One champion.
