Facebook and HTC join hands for a new smartphone
With increasing number of people using social networking sites, the demand for smart phones is at an all0time high. The market is poised to see more competition as Facebook has entered into a..

IN AN attempt to deeply integrate Facebook, Taiwan's HTC will build a customised smart phone in alliance with Marc Zuckerberg's company, according to the technology blog All Things Digital. Powered by Google's Android mobile operating system, the phone would be made under a project; code named 'Bluffy' and will be available in the market in the next 18 months.

A Facebook spokesperson told the blog: "Our mobile strategy is simple: We think every mobile device is better if it is deeply social. “We're working across the entire mobile industry; with operators, hardware manufacturers, OS providers, and application developers to bring powerful social experiences to more people around the world."

The Android phones that are available at lesser expensive rates already have taken the smart phone market in India and across the world by storm. It ended the monopoly enjoyed by Apple's iPhone and RIM's Blackberry. This resulted in a dip in the rates of Apple and Blackberry Phones. With more focus on the social networking sites, the new HTC phone will be more appealing to the customers.

There are so many smart phones available in the market and the new entries only add to the confusions in the minds of customers who have to select from a number of options. Apple has launched its best iPhone 4s while Blackberry is also adding new phones, the new HTC phone will add to the competition.
