Fake certificate gangs thriving in Hyderabad
During the last year and a half, Hyderabad Task Force and Cyberabad SOT teams have nabbed more than 30 gangs for fabricating fake educational and job experience certificates; bank statements for US visas; driving licenses; vehicle registration cards; aadhaar and ration cards etc.

After 19-year-old student, Vishesh Agarwal was caught at a bar and restaurant with a fake driving license recently, police teams swung into action to nab these fake certificate gangs. The police found out that gangs are now using sophisticated technology to create fake documents.

It is reported that gangs still use old screen printing techniques for creating 'watermarks' on fake certificates and use computers, scanners and printers only for printing text on the watermarked paper. Gangs that exist in west and south zones, fabricate land documents, fake experience certificates and fake bank statements.

According to police, there are some gangs in the city that procure empty smart cards from RTO offices to create fake vehicle registration certificates for bank loans. These gangs do not tamper with the details on the card but create new cards which state that the vehicle is free of loans. Later, the gang approaches banks for taking loans. Some of the gangs have been nabbed in the city by the police recently.

Presently, the city police are focusing on the Jubilee Hills case where a minor boy procured a fake driving license.
