Family in Bihar's Nalanda district allegedly hoists Pakistan flag
A Nalanda Muslim family has allegedly unfurled a flag with moon and crescent on the terrace of their residence. The flag was resembling like Pakistan flag. Though the family said it was a religious flag with moon and crescent, some locals alleged it was a Pakistan flag.

The family members have to say that the 'religious' flag was hoisted as a mark of respect to God as a woman in the family is expecting her first child after several years of her marriage.

As per the local media, the flag resembling Pakistan flag was unfurling at the house of Shabana Anwar since Wednesday. She stays with her father Anwarul Anwar at Ward number 36 in Kharadi locality under Laheri police station of Biharsharif.

Private new channels showed the green flag with moon and crescent hoisted on the house. When the police received the information from media regarding the Pakistani flag hoisted on top of the house, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Sudhir Kumar and Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saifur Rahman rushed to the spot and seized the flag from the family members.

Sudhir Kumar while talking to the media said, "We are questioning the family and neighbours to know the intention behind Anwar family's action".

As the incident took place in the home district of Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, it sparked immediate political reactions.

Opposition leader from BJP Prem Kumar said, "Such things cannot be tolerated. Last week, one person was arrested for shouting pro-Pakistan slogans and now Nalanda incident took place. It is the time Nitish government takes harsh action," reported by Indian Express.

JD(U) spokesperson Ajay Alok said that the police had been asked to take strict action in the matter. "We cannot tolerate it. Police did act in Patna case and Nalanda police is also doing its duty."
