Farmer who attempted suicide at Kejriwal's farmer rally dies
The farmer who attempted suicide by hanging himself from a tree at Aam Aadmi Party's anti-Land Bill rally in New Delhi has died. According to various media reports the farmer died before being brought to Delhi's Ram Monohar Lohia Hospital for treatment.

The dead farmer, Ganjendra was from Rajasthan's Dausa district. Reportedly the farmer in a suicide note has blamed the loses he has to suffer because of his failed crop as the reason of his suicide. Gajendra has left behind three children and his wife.

Delhi's chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal and deputy CM, Manish Sisodia have reached the hospital.

The Congress leader Ajay Maken has also reached the hospital. Maken criticised the rally organisers and accused them of being insensitive towards the farmer.

Another Congress leader Sachin Pilot also criticised the AAP for not giving priority to save the farmer over their rally.

Arvind Kejriwal accused the police personnel who were present at Jantar Mantar of not stopping the farmer from attempting to commit suicide. Kejriwal claimed that despite his repeated calls the police didn't move to stop the farmer from climbing the treee and then no attempt was made to bring him down.

Aam Aadmi Party has organised the rally to oppose the proposed amendments in the existing Land Acquisition Act, 2013 mooted by the BJP-led NDA government at the centre.
