The Jail authorities have shifted YSR Congress President and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursay night to foil his indefinite fast. He is on fast at Chanchalguda prison in Hyderabad since last Sunday protesting against the government of India's move to create a separate Telangana state ignoring issues raised by people from Seemandhra region.
Doctors said Jaganmohan Reddy refused to take intravenous fluids. After examining him, the doctors had advised him to take the intravenous fluids as the glucose level in the body had come down.
Police baton charged Jagan's supporters who had gathered in large numbers and wanted to enter the hospital.
Though officials stated that he was shifted after he collapsed in the jail, sporting red T-shirt and black trousers and looking weak, Jagan got down from a police vehicle at the hospital and preferred to walk into the hospital, though he was offered a wheel chair.
Jagan's mother Y S Vijayamma, wife Bharathi and other family members rushed to the hospital to meet him. Vijayamma demanded that Jagan be shifted to NIMS Hospital. A large number of policemen and personnel from paramilitary forces were deployed outside Osmania Hospital. Only patients and those having valid ID cards were being allowed inside.
Jagan is in jail since May last year in a disproportionate assets case being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
