There have been indications of an AT&T compatible version of the smartphone device Google Nexus, after one such device has reportedly recieved FCC approval. Till now, the Google Android OS 2.1 run device was only available with T Mobile.
NEW REPORTS suggest that there will soon be a AT&T compatible version of the smartphone Google Nexus one, after such a device has bagged the approval of the Federal Communications Commission or the FCC.
This would be a relief to many users who have recently suffered due to a data outage on the Google Nexus One T Mobile version, at least two times. The Google Android OS is available with T Mobile till now and their have been promises of similar versions for Verizon and Vodaphone. The usage of a compatible version gives these brands and now AT&T, competitive advantage in the case of the Google Nexus One phone.
The new AT&T compatible Google Nexus One device will be made by HTC Mobile and is tentatively being called the 99110. The new device will be quite similar to the Google Nexus One sets available in the market, but will run on AT&T's 3G network and use its voice and data service support.
However, more details of this new device are being kept hushed up with even FCC pulling documents related to it off its website, as per sources. Google has also not commented on the creation of a new compatible device.
The Google Nexus One is a smartphone known for its high end features, the topmost of which are the Google Android OS 2.1, a 1GHz snapdragon processor and a formidable base of applications tied into other services that the company offers. The 3.7 inch smartphhone has an AM-OLED Display, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB microSD card, WVGA, 5 MPx camera, 3.5 mm headset jack, GPS reciever, accelerometer and digital compass.
