On Sunday, Bengali community and clubs in Jaipur began their Durga Puja festival with joyous and devotional fervour. Various Bengal clubs have put up decorated puja pandals and devotees are thronging them in the morning and evening hours.
JAIPUR-BASED Bengali clubs began their Durga Puja ceremonies on Sunday in their respective pandals by installing idols of Goddess Durga. Devotees thronged pandals to participate in the colorful traditional Bengali puja celebrations. On Sunday, Goddess Durga was welcomed to grace the festivity and the celebrations are going to last upto Vijay Dashami and thereafter Durga idols will be immersed in water bodies.

Jaipur Durga Bari Association organized a special puja event of Maha Saptami called Pushpanajali early morning today followed by Bhog. The association is going to organize sandhya puja at 7 pm today. Another puja event was held on Sunday by Probasi Bengali Cultural Society in Jai Club and prayers were rendered as well as devotional songs were sung. In the evening, a cultural function was organised in which professional artistes performed to set in the festive fervour.
In Raja Park locality, a noted singer Payal Bhatacharjee from Kolakata, enthralled the devotees with devotional songs. A food festival with Benngal cousines called Anand Mela was also organised.
