LISTED AS the second most important event organised by FIFA, the U-20 women's world cup started yesterday in Germany. Post the FIFA finals in South Africa, the attention has moved to Europe with 16 teams including Nigeria battling it out with their batch of best female footballers for the coveted cup and adulation. So far, Nigeria has not managed to cross the quarter finals in all its previous appearances. The tournament will be held from July 13 to August 1, 2010. Some of the winners of the previous tournaments are Chile: 2008, Russia: 2006, Thailand: 2004 and Canada: 2002.

Ghana's U-20 team at the Women's World Cup are a shame to us. They play as if they weren't camped prior to the tournament.
Nigeria girls are trying in this competition i hope they will perform better than previous tornaments
