FIFA World Cup: Argentina vs Switzerland
One of the favourites for the 2014 World Cup, Argentina is set for a round of 16 encounter against Switzerland later tonight. Both teams have looked solid in the group stages with Argentina topping Group F, winning all their matches, while Switzerland was placed second in the Group E.

Though, Argentina is expected to defeat the Swiss and walk into the quarter-finals, but the Argentineans are not going to take it easy against the Swiss. In the round of 16 fixtures played so far, favourites such as Brazil, Netherlands and Germany had their task cut out playing against lower ranked teams. Argentina would be aware of the threat the Swiss team possess as well.

With Switzerland not expected to win the game, it could possibly get the best out of the Swiss players as compared to the Germans who would be under severe pressure. The Swiss would be highly dependent on Xherdan Shaqiri, who has been in great form, even scoring a hat-trick in their last game. The Argentineans are aware of the skills he possess and need to keep the player on the check else Argentina could be in for a lot of trouble.

On the contrary, Shaqiri needs some of his other team mates as well to perform during the night, if they are to create an upset in the competition. But history suggests otherwise, as Argentina has played the Swiss seven times and have not even lost once.

The Germans would like to maintain the same record in this world cup as well and with top quality players in their squad such as Messi, Higuain, Do Maria etc, they are sure to create enough chances for themselves and their team to help Argentina score and progress into the business end of the competition.

Argentina would be missing the services of their striker, Sergio Aguero, but such is their squad's depth that Aguero would be replaced by another lethal striker from Paris Saint Germain, Ezequiel Lavezzi.
