FIFA World Cup 2014 Finals: Germany Vs Argentina
Germany and Argentina, two powerhouses of world football are the only surviving teams in the FIFA World Cup, which kick-started a month ago. These two teams would clash for the coveted trophy later tonight, which Argentina won last in 1986 and Germany in 1990.

Germany has been the most consistent team in the competition so far, where they have not lost a single game so far. Only against Ghana, they drew, else they have played a perfect game en route to the finals. Germany after thrashing Brazil in their previous game, 7-1, must be soaring high on confidence. But, Argentina would prove to be a tougher nut to crack for the European giants.

Argentina, like Germany has had a strong competition so far as they have won all the matches played so far. But, what has been noticed is that the South American giants have won with one goal difference only in most of these matches and they have remained dependent on Lionel Messi for a very long time.

What if Messi fails to shine in the match? This was the same thing, which happened against the Dutch, where the match had to be stretched till the penalties.

It is time for their star players such as Aguero along with Higuain to shine on the final day of the competition, though, they are most probably going to miss out on the services of Angel de Maria, who is racing against time to be fit for the game.

Germany would be a happier lot, if Maria would not be playing, as he would pose many a problems for the opposition defenders threading quality balls and is also a clean striker of the ball as well.

But, one may say that Germany does not need to think about their opposition too much, for they have been great and their team has played as a strong unit in the competition. The positive thing about Germany is that they are not too dependent on individual talent, which is in abundance.

Thomas Muller is their biggest player, who could land with the golden boot as well, if he scores two clear goals. Along with Muller, it is players such as Ozil and Klose who could be a huge threat to Argentina, who are looking for their third world cup triumph ever since its inception in 1930.

Will we see a European nation or a South American team lift aloft the title tonight? In a matter of few hours, the fate of 2014 World Cup would be known.
