FIFA World Cup: Germany Vs Portugal
When Germany takes on Portugal later today in their Group G encounter at Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, the Germans would be considered favourites, but with Cristiano Ronaldo on the other side of the pitch, Germany is aware of the threat. Both teams are expected to progress into the next round of the competition with USA and Ghana making up the other two teams.

Germany are considered to be one of the favourites for the competition, rightly so. They have a brilliant set of players, who are capable of turning the game on its head. In Podolski, Muller and Ozil, they have great attacking players, who could make life difficult for their opponents.

Though, there are some injury concerns, which might rule out players like Schweinsteiger, but they have an equally impressive bench strength, which would help the team in the long run.

But, as far as Portugal's line up goes, they can pick their best starting eleven as they are not missing any of their star players. Though, many experts may have talked about Germany as a strong contender, but, there are players for Portugal such as Meireles, Moutinho, Nani along with one of the world's best player – Ronaldo, who can take their team to glory.

With such players at their disposal, one can expect the game to be played in a high tempo, entertaining the fans all around the globe. Irrespective of the team, which loses the game, they still have a good chance to progress in the competition, as Ghana and the USA are lower ranked teams in the competition. The Germans with their vast experinced players would consider it to be a huge failure if they fail to top the group, defeating Portugal as well.

As far as Portugal's further progression into the competition is looked at, it more or less hinges on Ronaldo and his heroics. He can win games on his own and Portugal fans would be praying for the same.
