Fifteen days after sack, Saroori holds office on GAD website
General Administration Department of the Jammu and Kashmir government seems to be ignorant about the developments in the state. Despite the fact that Gulam Mohd Saroori was dismissed by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Congress High Command's deci
JAMMU AND Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah may have ousted,  Inderwal MLA,  Ghulam Mohd Saroori from his council of Ministers, a fortnight ago but ‘General Administration Department (GAD), throwing instructions to the wind, continues to show him as minister on its website.

Saroori, who was dismissed on August 26 by the State Chief Minister Omar Abdulah following a cabinet meet and his recommendations was accordingly accepted by the
Governor N N Vohra the same day, however, a reluctant visit to the GAD’s website revealed that Ghulam Mohammad Saroori continued to occupy 16th place in the 23-member cabinet.

Interestingly, Government also issued an Order on August 27 for the partial modification of Order No: 895 - GAD of 2009 dated 11.07.2009, according to which the charge of R&B and Mechanical Engineering shall remain with the Chief Minister, but the instructions have been thrown to wind by the concerned, by not updating the site and deleting Saroori’s name and his photograph from the official site which still appears on the website even after the passage of two weeks time after his dismissal.
.
It is to mention that Saroori was sacked on August 26 by the Chief Minister on the Congress high command’s directions after his name appeared in the MBBS/BDS impersonation case.

Following this, the party high command directed him to submit his resignation but instead of following the direction Saroori chose to fly out of India and was later sacked by Omar Abdullah on August 26 on Cong high command’s direction.

Ironically, the state government which has shot off letter to the CBI authorities requesting them to take over the case has no idea whether the CBI will take up the case or not. Till now the CBI has not responded formally to the state government request.

Meanwhile, long absence of Saroori from the scene has allowed his detractors to target him and question the reasons behind his long absence. If his daughter has been a beneficiary of the impersonation racket why is he running away from the state.

It is pertinent to mention that Saroori landed in trouble on August 21 when seven impersonators were arrested during a medical entrance examination at the Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Science. One of the impersonators were allegedly taking the test on behalf of Saroori’s daughter Huma Tabassum.

Following this, the party high command had directed him to submit his resignation but instead of following the direction Saroori chose to fly out of India and was later sacked by Omar Abdullah on August 26 on Cong high command’s direction.

Now after the Saroori dismissal, pressure is being maintained by his supporters for his re-entry, sources said. Pradesh president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz had denied any role in Saroori’s ouster but his camp is happy over the move.

Despite this high voltage drama in state politics where the ousted Congress leader G M Saroori was at the centre stage, the concerned department has yet has to wake up from its deep slumber. And this is not the first time earlier it failed to remove the data regarding senior PDP leader and the then finance Minister Muzaffer Hussain Beig when he resigned from his post.
