Fight Alzheimer's with gym exercise
Exercise can help you prevent Alzheimer's and make your brain muscles strong.

There is a the joke which does the round in clubs and bars in India and beyond that if given a choice, would people prefer Parkinson's in their old age to Alzheimer's. That is because it would be better to get at least half a peg rather than forget where they had kept the bottle of scotch.

While Parkinson's makes your hands tremble Alzheimer's makes you forget things.

For those who are terrified of forgetting where they had kept their bottle of whisky in old age if they end up suffering from Alzheimer's there is good news coming from researchers in Rio de Janeiro. It is possible to fight and retard the disease by the simplest possible method which is joining a neighbourhood gym.

This old age brain disorder can be countered by a simple hormone called Irisin which is produced in the body when a person exercises.

How this works is a complex process as it builds up the so called muscles in the brain in a manner of speaking as well and makes it easy for those who are forgetful to remember things.

Exercise is therefore not just a way to continue to look beautiful but also to build up your mental and physical fitness.

A close observation of the people who go to a gym and those who do not shows very easily the difference between the two. Those who do not go to a gym are clumsy both physically and socially and have their major awkward moments and movements everywhere for display to the public at large. Those who go to a gym are well coordinated and organised and can handle their daily work far better than the other set.

There is therefore no substitute for machine based workouts or for that matter even exercises like Yoga which is done under the guidance of proper instructors and physiotherapists.

However the reluctance of the average Indian to go to a gym or play games or exercise is their undoing. It is a cultural attitude and no matter how much is done to show that exercise is good for health Indian mothers may insist otherwise for their children. Gyms are therefore supposed to be places where people go for social connect rather than physical well being and that attitude needs to be changed.
