THE NAME terrorism itself creates terror in the mind of general masses across the globe. It has snatched the peace of mind, killed thousands of innocent people, made many orphans, left hundreds of helpless parents to live lonely life without sons and daughters and painted the beautiful earth gory red with the blood of innocents. This disease is consistently mounting and almost all parts of the world are affected due to it. Although, a number of people, organisation and states are using this as weapons to target others but no one wants to known the real reasons behind this disaster and why it is happening persistently?
Before detention of a Hindu Jagran Manch member in connection with bomb blasts in the communally sensitive Maharashtra town of Malegaon, many people, including Vishwa Hindu Parishadinternational general secretary, Praveen Togadia, believed that “all Muslims are not terrorists but all terrorists are Muslims”. The new face of terrorism has exposed the truth. Apart from this there is also a long list of other terrorist organisation, which belongs to other communities, including LTTE, ULFA, NLFT, National Liberation Front, ATTF, All Tripura Tigers Force, IRA Germany, Baader Meinh gang, etc.
Undoubtedly, this incident has opened a new chapter for debate. Now one can ask if only Muslims are involved in terrorism?
I cannot help but wonder why terrorism is flourishing so fast in spite of the fact that no religion or religious scriptures permit bloodshed of other communities in the name of religion. Al-Qur’an says in surah Maidah chapter number-5 verse number 32, “If any person kills any human being whether he is a Muslim or non-Muslim (irrespective of race, religion, caste, colour, or creed) unless it is for murder, or for spreading mischief in the land, it is as though he has killed whole humanity. Similarly if anyone saved another person, it is though he has saved the whole humanity and vise versa.”
Qur’an also defines the rights of neighbours. Allah says in the Qur’an that if you have to buy a plaything for your child you also buy the same for children of your neighbour whether he is Muslim or non-Muslim without making discrimination (on the ground of caste, race and religion). If you cannot not do so, instruct your child to play with it within the walls of your house. This will ensure that the other kids after seeing the toy may not ask for the same from the parents who may not be able to afford that for their child’ It will be an unforgivable sin. If Allah is so strict over the right of neighbours, how can he permit the follower of Islam to kill innocent people in the name of religion?
Person involved in terrorist activities not only destroy the lives of innocent people and disrupt the peace and prosperity of society but also end losing their lives. Is it not that these people also have dream of leading happy lives. They also wish to breathe fresh air and live with their loved ones. Then who is making them indulge in violence? Which are the forces compelling them for doing all this? Which is the real face behind terrorism?
But nobody seems interested in knowing the root cause of terrorism.
Terrorism has become very sensitive topic and needs extra care when dealing with it. We have to trace out its prime cause and remedy because the gun is not the final solution. We have been consistently fighting against terrorism for many years but the situation has worsened today.
Many people thinks that it is kind of revenge by the people who have lost their relatives and friends. Other believes that delay in justice may also be cause of it. But no one is sure about it. Some political experts also feel that terrorism is nothing more than dummy like other communal sensitive topics, which is used by the political parties and its leader to mislead, deceive or play vote of politics.
According to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar the cause of terrorism is frustration, desperation for achieving a goal of life. Misconception regarding religion is also factor of terrorism. Ignoring human value and respect for lives are prime factors, which prompt people to take others’ lives.
We cannot expect anything from media especially electronic media, which has turned into entertainment industry. They are more concerned about unscientific ghost story, hence responsibility falls on the shoulder of young generation to come forward and take up challenges for eradicating terrorism without discriminating on the basis of caste, colour, race and religion.
