Fiji - a taste of heaven
Many words come to mind when I think of my journey to the Fiji Isles. Most of them would do injustice to the sheer natural wealth and picture-postcard surroundings found across the country. Maybe 'dreamlike' is the best way to describe my adventures in these picturesque locales. 'Unforgettable' may be yet another way.

When I landed in the city of Nadi, where the international airport is, I could not believe my eyes. I fell in love with Fiji at the very first glance. In the days that followed, Fiji claimed my heart. But every story must be told from the very beginning.

So, here's a basic geography lesson. Nestled in the South Pacific, Fiji comprises of 333 islands known for its rugged terrain, picture perfect coral reefs and crystal clear lagoons.  Of the 900,000 residents, 65 per cent live on the two main islands- Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Suva is the capital of this tropical paradise.

Searching for the bliss that so many others have felt before me, I travelled on a little Fijilink plane to SavuSavu Airport, having spent a night near the Airport Hotel. I experienced the lavishness and indulgence of the Namale Resort, where I was transferred soon after. Having hosted some of the biggest celebrities from around the world, this resort was only ten minutes away from the airport.

What made this resort unique is just how spacious, lavish and unique it really is. This adults-only resort is ideal for honeymooners, babymooners, those celebrating milestone anniversaries and birthdays. The sight of the villas takes your breath away at once. The clientele of this resort includes Hollywood megastars Edward Norton and Russel Crowe. It's easy to see why they frequent the place. From the amenities to the food and to the rooms, every aspect of Namale is special.

At Namale, I relished my time at one of the eighteen villas spread across 200 acres of natural wonder land. The staff catered to my every request, often going beyond the call of duty for my satisfaction and pleasure. In addition to Namale being the epitome of luxury, it is ingrained in the culture and tradition of Fiji making my stay a very authentic experience.

As great at the experience at Namale was, little did I know that my trip was far from over. I decided to take a scenic boat ride to Malolo Island, located 2 hours away from Port Denarau. From the moment I stepped into the Malolo Island Resort, the canopy of coconut trees and the idyllic nature of the island melted by heart.

I fell in love at once with the magnificent location and the matchless service. My villa faced the beach, which was only a gentle walk away. I immersed all my senses into the experience that was Fiji and enjoyed a dreamlike vacation like none other.

I strongly recommend that you too take the time and visit the Fiji Isles. The memories alone will make every penny spent feel worthwhile!
