'Ahalya' - a thriller short film by Kahaani's director Sujoy Ghosh is creating storm all around the web with its suspense packed plot and impeccable performances. The director has proved his brilliance once again, with his recent art work, starring veteran actor Soumitra Chatterji, alluring Radhika Apte and Bengali actor Tota Roy Chowdhury.
The film is plotted on a mythological character called 'Ahalya,' and after its release, it went viral on Internet, owing to its unique and engaging story line. Many Bollywood celebrities too lauded the film including Big B.

While revealing that his aim was to make an entertaining piece, director Sujoy Ghosh said in an interview to India Today, "When you read the myth of Ahalya, you will see that it is pretty nicely chalked out, and then you interpret it in your own way. Like, when you read a story and then you think 'what did I just read?', 'was what I read right or not, or could it be a little different?' This is my version of that story, which would make it more entertaining."

And yes, he stood to his point of view as the film's climax will indeed make you wonder. The film has a feminist twist to the myth of Ahalya, Gautam and Indra.

The noted director while expressing the reason behind making this short film said that his desires to work with veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee inspired him to go for the short story. Chatterjee is in one of the lead roles in the film.

The director also said that he had no such high expectations from the film and he made it just to work with his favorites. According to him, writing a short film is more challenging than writing a feature one.
