As the current session is supposed to end on August 14, Tendulkar sent his leave request for the remaining days of the session. When the debate started a week before on his absence, Tendulkar reasoned that it was not that he is non-serious about his membership, but it was his brothers illness which stopped him from coming to the parliament.
Tendulkar, as reported by TOI, had said, "There was a medical emergency in my family, certain things I want to keep it private. But just to let you know, my elder brother Ajit had to undergo a bypass surgery and I had to be by his side."
On little master's request the house has granted him leave in the wake of the personal and professional reasons given by him. But to save his membership, he further needs to attend the winter session which is likely to begin in November end as he cannot remain absent for 60 consecutive days (sittings) of the Parliament.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actress-turned-MP Rekha appeared in the upper house today after remaining absent for a long duration.
