Find a partner in fitness and in health
Keeping fit can be a difficult task while we lead a busy life, and trying to stay fit alone can be boring. To ensure that you stick to a routine and have a cheerful and interesting workout - find a partner who can partner you in your fitness regimen.
ALL OF us realise the importance of staying fit, but with most people it so happens that lack of motivation or sheer laziness pulls us down. One very effective solution to this problem is finding a partner - this could be anyone, a co-worker, a neighbour, someone at the gym, an old college buddy, someone from your family, and of course your significant other,

You have so many options when it comes to finding a partner for exercise.

Would it not feel great when you get a compliment on your energy levels, your looks, and your good health?  If yes, and if you are someone who stays away from that 7 am morning jog just because you are lazy and then feel guilty about it all day - find a partner to jog with.

A partner is someone who you can relate to. You should pick a partner who has similar goals as you have. So if one wants to lose weight pick someone who shares the same goal. This bonding will help greatly because you know that you are not alone and that you have someone to turn to and to ask questions.

Most importantly, you can share your achievements such as the weight that you have lost or when you are getting into better shape. The encouragement received from your partner will always keep you going. There are plenty of choices when it comes to exercise.

If your passion lies in running, it would be very valuable to find a partner who shares this passion. The sheer motivation to outdo your partner will keep you going, sorry, running! You may have run miles and miles alone, but once you have a partner, try the same track with him/her, and you will find it shorter and perhaps easier.

But let's say running is not your thing and you prefer hitting the gym instead. Well, a workout partner would keep up the challenge going for you, and at the same time the two of you can help each other push weights while weight training when needed - in every set of all the repetitions you do.

Walking on the treadmill next to each other for warm up, or for that matter any other activity such as arm wrestling, kickboxing and indoor cycling, would be much more fun with your workout partner.

After a workout cool down, and a protein shake and some jokes would make your workouts more interesting and push you to keep going back. It is very likely that you develop a never-die attitude when you have a workout partner.

If dance is your passion it's no fun to dance alone. Remember Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze of Dirty Dancing? It is the partnership they shared that created that beautiful magic. It is of course alright when you dance alone but when you have a partner you naturally work harder to match each others' steps. Every move you make or you are going to make depends on your partner’s acceptance of that move, and that keeps the challenge going.

Even if none of the above applies to you, you do have that lovely dog in your life, who you love with all your heart and soul. And if you don't have one, borrow it from your neighbour, and take him along with you for a walk.

It can be an amazing experience and you might end up borrowing your neighbour’s dog again or get one yourself.

Indeed, it's possible that a few sessions in the beginning may be a bit awkward but once the dog gets to know you and starts liking you, your walk with him could be rejuvenating. For them it’s a game they love, for you there are countless benefits.

Research has shown that people who exercise with someone else actually get faster results and get into shape faster than other people do. There are many benefits to have a exercise partner. So find a partner, stay healthy.
