Fire breaks out in State Bank of Patiala at Jalalabad
A fire broke out in the Jalalabad branch of State Bank of Patiala, on Monday, situated on Ferozepur-Fazilka highway near Bhagwan Parshuram Chowk. It is believed that the inferno resulted from a short circuit. Two fire tenders had to struggle to control the fire.
But, nobody was injured as the fire and smoke was noticed by some passerby and the matter was reported to the bank manager, who further reported to the police and civil administration, who sprung into action.

Immediately on getting the information, Paramjit Singh, SDM and Ajmer Singh Bath, DSP reached the spot. The local and Fazilka fire tenders were called into the area.  The fire was controlled with the help of the fire brigade employees, breaking the wall of bank manager’s office.

According to Sudershan Goyal, Bank Manager, it was the short-circuit, which caused the fire and had spread in the entire building due to false-ceiling, which completely destroyed the furniture inside the bank. However, the bank manager claimed that there was no loss of record and the entire record of the bank required for day to day working was safe.
