First look of 'The Great Gatsby', Amitabh's Hollywood debut

Amitabh Bachchan literally is eating the humble pie as Indians go gaga over his Hollywood..

AMITABH BACHCHAN described it as the “Gatsby' my half blink and you miss role, friendly appearance!! But with giants of Hollywood - Leonardo Di Caprio, Tobey Maguire!” on Twitter while many other proud Indians pegged the picture of the movie as AB's big Hollywood debut. The superstar wants to make no hype of the matter that he would be seen in the same frame as Leonardo Di Caprio and Tobey Maguire for the highly anticipated Christmas release 'The Great Gatsby.'

As reported in timesofindia.com, Big B is playing the character of Meyer Wolfsheim, who is an infamous gambler and wears human molars as his cuff links. The shady character has the power of money and takes great pride in proclaiming that it was he who fixed the 1919 baseball world series. The movie is an adaptation of the book of the same name written by F Scott Fitzgerald and in the book Leonardo's caharacter (Jay Gatsby) introduces the young Nick Carraway (Maguire) to Meyer Wolfsheim (Bachchan). Whether the same would be true for the movie is hard to tell but as far as the first trailer is concerned Senior Bachchan is quite visible.

On the first look, he looks like a distinguished, dapper old man with a lot of experience of the world in his Kohl-rimmed eyes. With the trending of the 'The Great Gatsby,' Sr. Bachchan is getting much support from across the people of India. Everyone is terming it as the debut of Amitabh Bachchan in Hollywood. Shrish Kunder tweets, “Check out how effortlessly he steals the frame with his presence.” The first look in itself have made such a big impact on tweeple that they cannot wait for the release of the trailer tomorrow.
