Five-day Rajasthan International Folk Festival begins in Jodhpur
The five-day Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF) took off with a fanfare on October 13 in which folk artists of various countries are participating.

The festival will have the grand finale on October 17. The performances are happening at various venues of the city including the local fort.

Started in 2007 in a modest way, the festival has grown into a grand affair now, in which the folk artists from from world over participate and tourists from various countries come to witness the performances.

On the first day, the performances were held at Masuria Hills Garden wherein the Rajasthan's artists staged power pack performances. 

The Rajasthani dances like Ger and Thali dances enthralled the audience. The Bahurupias in various get ups roamed around and in the evening the performances were staged near the clock tower in the city.

Also, storytelling performances were put forth which were enjoyed by the school kids. A lot of music, dance, puppet show and tight rope walking items will be staged in which artists from Africa, South America and erstwhile Soviet countries will give scintillating performances.
