Flat owner to move Supreme Court against irresponsible behavior shown by Pune Municipal Corporation
Kashyap Vyas, a Pune based social worker has filed a petition against the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for its irresponsible behavior against a complaint. Vyas has claimed that the PMC is working hand in glove with the Tanker Mafia in Pune and are taking lakhs of rupees from the residents.
Vyas, who is one of the flat owners in a co-op housing society in
Hadapsar in Pune, Mahrashtra, and is waiting for the 'occupation
certificate' to be given by the
Pune Municipality, so that he can
reside in his dream house. But the PMC is not giving the certificate
to the society.
One
fine day, he called up the
Pune Municipal Commissioner, and asked him
regarding the non-availability of the occupancy certificate to his
society and to provide sufficient, clean and hygienic drinking water
supply. But in return the commissioner gave him a irresponsible and
vague reply, "Did you inquire about the water availability in the
area prior to buying Property."
Disgusted
with the reply of the commissioner, Vyas has now decided to file a
Public Interest Litigation with the Supreme Court of India regarding
the non-availability of occupation certificate to the society as well
as lack of sufficient, clean and hygienic drinking water.
Vyas
said, "Here in our area at least 5000 innocent citizens are
consuming filthy, polluted, dirty tanker water, which is costing 12
to 15 lacs per annum to the society. I am sure of connivance of
vested interest group behind this conspiracy. I spoke to Pune
Municipal Commissioner in December 2013 but got very irresponsible
and vague response."
He
is saying that, "Once permission is granted to construct the
buildings, it is the responsibility of Pune Municipality Corporation
to provide the civic and infrastructure needs to the citizens or they
should not grant permission to Real Estate Developers to construct
the colony of buildings."
