Hype about new digital products is being created by technology industry and business houses. If you listen to ads, vendor propaganda, sponsored research and the media, you would find technological solutions being marketed for human problems.

In a growing number of workplaces, schools, hospitals, transport system, governance system, residential buildings and neighbourhoods the use of digital technology is being encouraged. The scheme of Digital India has been launched and on-line transactions are being brought into force.

However, with activists, 'going green' and 'going social' are the new norm. They are drawing attention towards the flop-side of new technology. It is being felt that ecological ethics are required to be stressed to help us navigate out of the present eco-crisis caused by digital technologies.

Here is the ABC verse on the flop-side of digital technology which is being hyped as solution to all problems.

A: Addiction for digital gadgets is seen legitimate as it has become a high-end industry supported by the government and education.
