The host nation for the Olympics always puts its best forward to make sure that they provide one of the best Olympic parks, which would be visited by most of the athletes during the Games. Hence, we have compared the London Olympic park with Beijing Olympic Park of 2008.
The Olympic park in Beijing had some of the most important venues, which included the Beijing National stadium, which hosted to both the opening and the closing ceremonies. Both the ceremonies were a grand success. The important venues in the park were Beijing National Aquatics Center, Olympic Green Hockey Field, Olympic Green Archery Field, and Olympic Green Tennis Center. It was at the Olympic park that most of the action took place, and the facilities that were given to the athletes were also top class.
The same can be expected from the Olympic park in London which is situated at East London. Similar to the Beijing Games Olympic park, the London Olympic park also houses some of the important sporting arenas such as the Olympic stadium, which will host the opening and the closing ceremonies, the Aquatics centre. Basketball arena, just to name a few. So, there is no doubt about the number of athletes and visitors that would make this place lively during the Games. From the comparison one can make out that it is going to be one of the most busiest places during the Olympics.
After the 2008 Beijing
Olympic Games, the streets around the park are now being used for street races of the FIA GT1 World championship. How will the London Olympic park be used post Olympics? They already have their plans chalked out as it will be an integral part of the East London
technology hub along with it being transformed into a huge urban park too. The Games Village would be converted into more than 3000 apartments, which should please many British citizens. Post-Olympics, the park would be known as Queen Elizabeth Olympic park. It is only after the Games that we would be able to see how much of these plans would be executed.
