Football transfers: Liverpool close to Willian's signature
Liverpool kick off their English Premier League campaign today against Stoke City. They have strengthened their team from last season, by bringing in some players during the transfer window, which will only be closed after a fortnight or so. Now, Liverpool are close to signing the player from Anzhi Makhachkala, Willian.

Due to the financial condition of the Russian club, Anzhi Makhachkala, they are set to part ways with Willian and help themselves with their prevailing condition. Had it not been for the financial condition, a club of such stature would not allow such player to leave. Meanwhile, the player also seems to be interested in a move to Liverpool.

But, Liverpool is not the only club interested in signing the Brazilian player. Other top English clubs, such as Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest, but Liverpool are said to be in the pole position for the talented 25 year old star player.

Liverpool has been desperate for a marquee signing this season, which has unfortunately not happened. Their previous attempt of luring Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Shakhtar Dontesk, which was Brendan Rodgers target, in spite of coming close to a deal with Liverpool, signed for a Champions League side, Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool's absence from the high profiled champions league could be the only deterrent, which could see Willian signing for some other Champions League club. Else, Liverpool has an illustrious history, trophies, fans and most importantly, a club which is moving forward in the right direction. Willian also fits into Liverpool scheme of things perfectly.
