The new Ford Explorer 2011 has two engine versions, a 2.0 liters Eco Boost one (237 horsepower), as well as 3.5 liter V6 (290 HP), that is supposed to give V6 performance with 30% better fuel economy. Both versions have six-speed automatic transmissions and a whole range of very interesting security features.
However, the price of the 2011 Ford Explorer is not being announced but it is expected that the price will be in between $28,500 to $35,000. This latest SUV of Ford Motor Company ditches the body-on-frame platform and the V-8 for a V-6 and a lighter unibody structure based on the Ford Flex.
According to the reports, the interior of the Ford Explorer 2011 is more refined and offers more technology and creative features, such as optional inflatable rear seat belts. Ford Explorer will have a lighter and more streamlined body, fuel efficient downsized engines and several world-firsts in safety technology.
The Ford Explorer 2011 includes the latest incarnation of the MyFordTouch interface system and the MyKey system nanny monitoring feature. The new features will allow setting limits on radio volume, maximum speed, seatbelt usage, active parking-assist system, LED ambient interior lighting, etc.
