Formality of disconnecting electricity-connections of Parliamentarians for non-payment
It refers to New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) innovating new techniques to fulfill pressure built through RTI petitions by disconnecting electricity connections in the servant quarters of the defaulting Parliamentarians, thus creating problems for employees of the celebrity-defaulters for fault of the erring Parliamentarians.

Documents with this citizen journalist , under the RTI Act, reveal that pending dues in respect of servant-quarters were a negligible fraction of the main accommodation occupied by the defaulting Parliamentarians. Enquiry should be made about why and how electricity connections of just servant-quarters and not the other premises of the defaulting Parliamentarians were disconnected.

Pensions of all defaulting former Parliamentarians should be stopped immediately with strict legal action initiated to recover dues from former and present Parliamentarians and/or their legal heirs having enjoyed assets left by the deceased former Parliamentarians.

It was matter of regret that Prime Minister in presence of Chairperson of National Advisory Council laid foundation on 16.03.2013 for Gani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering & Technology (GKCIET) in Malda (West Bengal) named after biggest defaulter of telephone and electricity bills during his tenure as Parliamentarian and Union Minister. As a matter of principle and propriety, defaulter of government dues must not be honoured at any level and at the expense of the government.
