He also alleged that he was pressurized to suspend Ananthapuram SP, Syamsundhara Reddy. Calling CM a failure, he said: "I have proof to substantiate my allegations against the CM. I am even ready to approach the court if need arises."
Stating why Kiran Kumar Reddy dislikes him, he said that he had objected to the Chief Minister?s brother's (Santosh Reddy) land grabbing act. 'Ever since Kiran Kumar Reddy hates me,' he said. "His brother, Santosh Kumar Reddy, requested me on several occasions to intervene and settle certain land disputes in his favour. I refused. He would repeatedly ask me to give certain postings to some officers named by him but I did not oblige. On the other hand, he would sit on for months on the postings I send to him for clearance," Dinesh Reddy said.
On the occasion, Dinesh Reddy also spilled the beans on his controversial retirement issue. It's worth mentioning here that Dinesh Reddy retired on September 30 after the AP High Court dismissed his petition for extending his tenure, which the Apex Court too upheld.
Dinesh Reddy claimed that he was promised an extension by Kiran Kumar Reddy but was later denied. "The CM humiliated me, betrayed me and backstabbed me by issuing my superannuation order two days before my retirement. Had he given me enough indication before hand that I would not get extension, I would have exited the scene gracefully," Dinesh Reddy said.
Without naming either the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case or AP IPS officer and intelligence DIG N Balasubramanyam (who has been charged with murder in the case by the CBI), Dinesh Reddy said: "I sent a report to the CM suggesting that a certain IPS officer linked to a certain case was in a sensitive position and that he should be replaced. However, the reply I got from Kiran Kumar Reddy, after he sat on the report for two months, was that there was no need to shift the officer from that position."
Interestingly, minutes after former DGP's press conference, TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao's son K Taraka Ramarao demanded a CBI probe into Santosh's activities and also act against the Chief Minister.
