It appears that the accused major Hasan who was hit by police bullets when he had killed 13 persons is now paralysed. It is feared that he might be paralysed waist downwards. The legs are completely immobile.
THE DEFENCE counsel of the carnage accused who killed 13 persons at fort hood, retired Colonel John Gallagan visited the accused in San Antonio Military Hospital to discuss the line of defence at the trial. The asstt counsel, Major Christopher Martin too was there for the legal discussion.
The counsels discovered that major Nidal Hasan, the accused, could not move the lower part of the body. It is feared that he might be paralysed waist downwards. The legs are completely immobile. The civil police had fired four rounds at the accused at the time of the shoot out. The injury caused by those four bullets caused the paralysis. No medical bulletin has been issued on the accused by the hospital as the accused has requested the authorities not to do so. One of his relatives too visited him but no further information is available about his identity.
Meanwhile a faux pas committed by the PRO of the army came to light. The army had projected a woman police sergeant as the one who felled the murderer. But when the investigators went into detail and saw the CCTV recording, they found that the woman police sergeant on being hit by a bullet fell down and was in no position to fire back at the killer. It was a Black male sergeant who felled Major Hasan with his bullets. The army PRO had earlier given the wrong information that the killer Major too was shot dead. There has been a mix up on other issues too.President Obama has ordered a fresh collection, collation and interpretation of intelligence and evidence so that the haze is cleared and a correct picture is presented to the concerned authorities.
