Four acquitted by Sessions Judge still under police custody
Four accused persons Aruna, Padma, Kumari and Durga Rao are alleged to have links with the Maoists were acquitted on 30th April 2010 after one and half years of judicial custody at the fast track court, Malkangiri.
FOUR  People identified as Aruna, Padma, Kumari and Durga Rao accused of allegedly  having links with the Maoists were acquitted on 30th April, 2010 after one and half years of judicial custody by the fast track court, Malkangiri.
 
According to the sources, no other cases are pending in court against them. However, despite the acquittal by the court, police officials forcibly arrested the accused people from the jail gate in presence of their lawyer Ram Patnaik.
 
In light of the incident, V.V Balkrishna, a member of the committee for releasing the political prisoners has called this act illegal and unfortunate. V.V Balkrinsha, who is also an Advocate condemned the illegal detention. He has demanded an immediate release of the four people out of which three are said to be females.
