Four army men killed in separate incidents in J&K
India's army chief, General Deepak Kapoor, on Wednesday said that Pakistan is violating the norms in order to help infiltration across the border. 'There has been a violation by Pakistan in the last couple of days'.
WITH AN increase in the cross border infiltration, four army men were killed in two separate encounters in Kashmir, the police has stated on Wednesday, September 23.

In the Bandipore district, two army personnel and two top Pakistani Hizbul Mujahideen commanders were killed after a 25-hour-long gun fight. According to officials, Major JS Suri and a Lance Naik Khushal Singh entered a house at Baniyari village of Bandipora, where Hizbul Mujahideen leaders Pasha and Musa were hiding. The terrorists resorted to heavy firing in which both the army personnel were killed instantly.

Troops from Rashtriya Rifles exchanged fire with the terrorists and cordoned off the area to prevent the latter from escaping. There was a lull in the firing, through out the night but it resumed again on Wednesday (September 22) morning in which both Pasha and Musa were killed. According to the police, the two terrorists were from Pakistan and had been operating in Kashmir since the last eight years.

In a separate incident, in the forest area in Panzla, Baramulla, a fierce gun battle which started on Monday, September 21, still continues. Two army men, including a marine commando and two unidentified terrorists have been killed.

India’s army chief, General Deepak Kapoor on Wednesday said that Pakistan is violating the norms in order to help infiltration across the border. “There has been a violation by Pakistan in the last couple of days. Those violations are being used as a means to push in additional terrorists before the winter sets in, so that there is a degree of instability in the valley and Jammu and Kashmir. Forces are quite well versed with these tactics", he told the media.
