Four hardcore militants were killed in Kashmir valley on Wednesday after security forces launched massive operations to flush them out of their hideouts in forest areas. Teams of local police and army jointly organised these raids against ultras.
SECURITY FORCES in Jammu and Kashmir are continuing their fight against terrorism and on Wednesday they managed to eliminate four hardcore militants in three separate encounters in Handwara and Awantipora areas in Kashmir Valley. Acting on intelligence inputs, Jammu and Kashmir police along with army and paramilitaries conducted joint operations to fish out militants hiding in forest areas.
Police said that an encounter took place after a joint team of Handwara police and 1st PARA challenged ultras at Satkuji in Handwara. Two militants were killed in the ensuing encounter, which is still continuing till the last reports came in.
Another encounter took place after a team of Handwara police, 21-Rashtriya Rifles and 1st PARA launched an operation in Behnipora forest area today falling under the jurisdiction of police station Handwara. During the encounter, one militant identified as Abdu Humza beloning to Lashkar-e-Toiba was killed. Humza is a resident of Pakistan and is believed to be a hard core member of the terror organisation.Another encounter which took place in Ladoo forest area, between the militants and a joint team of Awantipora Police, 50-Rashtriya Rifles, 31-Rashtriya Rifles, 42-Rashtriya Rifles and 185 CRPF. An unidentified militant was killed and two Army personnel got injured in this operation, which is still going on.
