A FOUR-YEAR-OLD girl was mauled by a pack of stray dogs in Baroda and her parents claim that the local government hospital insisted that they register a police complaint before treating the girl.
Sania Vohra was playing with her friends outside her house in Shiapura. When she went to pick up the ball, four stray dogs pounced upon her. An auto rickshaw driver Anwar Sheikh who was passing by stopped and rescued the girl.
The child’s friends called the family members who rushed her to the Sayaji hospital. The girl’s father Irfan Vohra claim that the local government hospital insisted that a police case is filed before treating the girl who was brought in an emergency situation. "Whom would I register a police complaint against, the stray dogs?" the girl’s father questioned. She was later moved to a private hospital and treated.
