Free eye and ear checkup for slum dwellers by Art of Living in Delhi
International Director of Art of living, Maheish Girri in order to take forward the work of Shri Shri Ravi Shankar organised a 'free eye and ear checkup camp' in East Delhi, a region which also has the maximum number of people below or just touching poverty line.

Slum dwellers were the main target when they set up the camp on June 16 and the initiative will go on till July 2013 in 108 camps. Keeping in sync with the national initiative 'Volunteer for a Better India’ (VFABI), launched by Sri Sri this year, Maheish Girri ji has activated a series of ‘108 Free Health Checkup & Awareness Camps’ in slums of east & south east Delhi in collaboration with Indian Medical Association (East Delhi branch).

The initiative, which would take care of about more than thousand slum dwellers from New Sanjay Amar Colony, Vishwas Nagar area will be attended by a team of 7-8 doctors. Talking about the camp Maheish Girri said, “Our venture of this camp to make people medically robust especially who live in slums area because they are economically feeble.

Apart from free medical checkups, patients were given various free stuff. 700 eyeglasses, 100 hearing aid were distributed among the slum dwellers. Girri also confirmed that if the need arises, they would not falter to perform a free operation as well.
