A free medical camp was organised by Sarba Siksha Abhiyan for the poor students. During the event, the students were given vitamins and mineral supplements as medication. They were also given special care by the medical team.
THE FREE medical camp which took place at Sishu Kalyan Siksha Mandir School, Gossaigaon, lasted around eight hours, starting at 8:30am and finishing at 4pm with a short lunch break. The registration counter signed up 260 students and all were consulted and treated by the nursing team, organised by Sarba Siksha Abhiyan (SSA). The programme was inagurated by Gautam Talukdar, SDO(C), and Bikash Rai DI of schools, Bandhan Vev of SSA, with many other teachers of schools under Gossaigaon Block were present in the programme.
SDO Talukdar, said that the concept was to make treatment and medication available for poor students, arranging a day when they could be consulted and medicated without costs. During the event, the students were given special care and were made assured that they keep the treatment.
The result was successful as most of the students attending the camp were from the poor families. All consulted, received free medication. As a global balance, malnutrition was the most common condition of the students, according to the nursing team.
